Meet our pets of the week: A beagle, a pit bull terrier mix and a rooster!

Samara is a 3-year-old beagle who came to HSMO's Maryland Heights shelter in late February as a stray. Samara can be a little shy and is looking for a forever home where her humans can be patient with her. Jaya is a 2-year-old pit bull terrier mix who came to the Humane Society of Missouri's Macklind Avenue headquarters in mid-February as a stray. She was underweight and afraid of her new surroundings upon intake, but she has gained more than 10 pounds and has warmed up to her caretakers over time. She's now ready for the second chance she deserves.
